Being a top national radio DJ, father and husband is a hectic job so when it comes to your wifes birthday-what do you get her?
Radio 2 DJ and thoughtful dad Mark Radcliffe amazed his wife Bella by having crystal portraits of two of his daughters and dog Toto done for her birthday in April- freezing their images of their family in time for Bella to keep.
Mark, from Great Budworth, Cheshire, thought the idea of 3DKids crystal blocks with his daughters' and Totos images in was a fantastic idea for Bellas Birthday.
"I thought the 3DKids crystal blocks were a great unique idea for my wifes birthday present." said Mark.
"3DKids were fantastic to work with and they even managed to get Toto our dog to have his photo taken. My children thoroughly enjoyed the picture session"

Babies bring new lease of life for "Mumpreneurs"
1st June 2008
MOTHERHOOD used to spell the end of a woman’s career but now it signals a new lease of life being born into women’s professions.
More and more ‘Mumpreneurs’ are proving that having a baby is the most inspirational time to start a business and that juggling family life and a career is a challenge to be jumped at.
Setting up your own business can be a daunting task but serial entrepreneur and father Darius Soudi is offering would-be mumpreneurs a slice of his crystalised business venture 3DKids - so they can be their own boss.
Offering flexible working hours, as well as the opportunity for mum’s to take their business to schools, nurseries and playgroups along with their children, mums can work from home and school running a franchise of 3DKids.
Darius is encouraging mums to take on postcode franchises of 3DKids.
The new 3D Kids company uses the latest state-of-the-art technology to create a school photograph for the 21st century – a three dimensional picture set in solid crystal.
Specialist cameras take a 3D image of pupils, which is permanently transferred into the dazzling crystals, creating an eye catching alternative to the traditional school portrait photograph.
“More and more women want to set up their own businesses when they start a family for flexible working, but often they don’t know where to start. By taking on a 3DKids franchise they have got a ready made business whilst working for themselves.
“The work is perfect for mums taking their children to school because with a 3DKids franchise they will be working in schools, nurseries and playgroups in their locality. It’s a great way to be out and about working and meeting people.
“It is an extremely exciting time for 3DKids as we expand and open more franchises. This is a fantastic opportunity for mums who want to get back into employment after time out with a family,” said Darius.
3DKids is the only company in the country offering this service and is already working with schools, nurseries, playgroups, as well as going into homes to take portraits of children, families and pets.
It's all crystal clear
1st June 2008
IT was while on holiday in Dubai that Darius Soudi’s new business venture be- came crystal clear. The Iranian-born business- man has launched his latest company 3DKids. The Cheadle-based business, which should turnover around £350,000 in its first year of trading, uses 3D photographic technology to etch images into crystals. It has won several contracts with schools and the UK’s big- gest nursery groups, including Busy Bees, for crystals blocks and key rings which feature im- ages of children. Darius says he got the idea while on holiday in Dubai with his three children, and invested in the technology to launch the idea in the UK. He says: “We go into schools and nurseries and take images of the children, then transfer them on to the crystals. Around 70 per cent of parents buy them and 10 per cent of the revenue goes to the school.” Darius, who came to the UK at the age of 14 with his parents, has also got a number of orders from football clubs including Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal, which are selling the crystal blocks with pictures of team players and club em- blems at their superstores. The 41-year-old spent several years in sales before launching afour-strong spa chain, Urveda, in Cheshire and Greater Man- chester with his ex-wife. He sold the business 18 months ago. Darius says with 12 million youngsters in the UK, there is huge potential for the 3DKids concept to expand and grow, and he is now planning to roll out the business nationwide on a franchises basis. Visionary company 3DKids is pioneering school photographs for the 21st Century – a three dimensional image set in solid crystal – and the company is now helping
schools across the UK with a unique fund raising opportunity.
St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School, at Leek, is one of the first schools in the country to take part in a 3D photo session which helps raise cash for schools by a percentage of the money raised from the 3D image sales being donated to the school.
St Mary's raised almost £400 from the sales of the crystal portraits following a one day 3D camera shoot.
Specialist cameras are used to etch 3D images of pupils into the dazzling crystals, creating an eye catching alternative to the traditional school photograph, which is an original and beautiful gift for family and friends.
Linda Close, Secretary at St Mary’s Catholic Primary, said: “The finished portraits of the children looked stunning and proved extremely popular with the children’s families.
“The funds raised from the session with 3DKids have also helped to make a positive contribution to the school.”
3DKids Director Darius Soudi said: “I’m delighted at the amazing response we received from the parents and staff at St Mary’s and I hope the funding from the portraits has been beneficial to the school.”
School1: Brandon Hall, 9, Ashley Wattley, 11, Bryony Whittaker, 8, and Rose Finney, 11, show off their 3D portraits.
